Donoughmore Athletic Football club was established in 1995 to cater for the growing demand for a soccer club in the local area. The club has been based in the Fr Condon Sports Field from the first and has benefited greatly from the excellent facilities.

The club first tasted success in the 97-98 season winning promotation from division 3A. The club made it's first appearence in Turners Cross in 2000 finishing runners up in the Saxone cup final.
